Amazon Injects $20 Billion into UK Operations in 2025

Amazon invested over £15 billion, or $20 billion, in the United Kingdom in 2025. This investment aligns with the e-commerce company's stated plan for £40 billion in the three years ending in 2027. More than £15 billion has already been spent. Amazon is on track to deliver its planned £40 billion investment. The 2025 investments included the launch of new operational sites and expanded sites. Amazon contributed more than £1.3 billion in direct taxes in the UK in 2025. This figure represents an increase of over 20% compared to the prior year. The company's total contribution was more than £6.5 billion. Amazon is also focusing on artificial intelligence and robotics. These technologies are being used to enhance warehouse automation and provide support to frontline employees. The company is committing capital to hardware development. Amazon committed up to $25 billion into Anthropic. This includes an initial $5 billion tranche and up to $20 billion tied to commercial milestones.
