Arkema Gains 2% as Third-Quarter EBITDA Meets Forecasts
By EC Assets · Published
Arkema shares advanced 2% after third-quarter core earnings matched analyst expectations. The specialty chemicals producer maintained its full-year guidance for 2026 alongside the release of the quarterly results. The market response follows performance earlier in the year that demonstrated operational resilience against challenging macroeconomic conditions. During the second quarter of 2026, Arkema posted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization of EUR 391 million, reflecting a 7% year-on-year increase. The company expanded its EBITDA margin to 16.1% in that period despite enduring weak overall demand and inflation across raw material costs. Following those second-quarter results, company leadership confirmed full-year targets pointing toward slight EBITDA growth. In reporting its financials, the group defines alternative performance indicators covering depreciation, amortization, and impairment of property, plant, and equipment as well as intangible assets before accounting for specific depreciation lines. Market participants continue to monitor whether demand stabilization will support full-year EBITDA targets as the group completes its final quarter of the 2026 financial year.
