Bilibili Stock Rises on $700M Convertible Notes Offering

Bilibili shares increased following the announcement of a $700 million convertible notes offering. The company, an iconic brand and leading video community for young generations in China, priced its offerings. Tencent has agreed to subscribe to a portion of these notes. Bilibili priced $700 million in zero-coupon convertible notes due 2031. Tencent is subscribing to $200 million of these notes. The remaining $500 million will be offered to other investors. The company also announced a concurrent $300 million share buyback program. These offerings include the convertible senior notes, a concurrent equity placement, and concurrent share repurchases. The Chinese short-video market is experiencing a shakeout. Tencent and Bilibili have closed smaller applications amidst tougher conditions.
