By EC Assets · Published
Goldman Sachs has issued a warning regarding investor conviction and its potential impact on market volatility. The firm suggests that high investor conviction could amplify volatility when sentiment shifts. Goldman Sachs recently added four new names to its favorite stocks list. These additions include a Spanish renewable energy stock, a Swiss dental implant manufacturer, a German online real estate search platform, and a Dutch specialist chemicals company. One of these additions is a defense call with a 143% upside. Separately, Wells Fargo (WFC) was added to Goldman Sachs' conviction list. The firm also advises considering consumer-facing laggard stocks. Goldman Sachs stated these stocks are the best way forward. This recommendation comes as earnings growth is expected to slow next year, and big tech stocks are struggling. Treasury yields have moved lower as investors assess the U.S. inflation backdrop. China's CXMT shares fell nearly 8%. This occurred as investors looked past the chipmaker's profit turnaround.
