Howdens Acquires DIY Kitchens for £390 Million

Howdens' stock has advanced following the announcement of its acquisition of DIY Kitchens. The company agreed to purchase the parent company of Ultima Furniture Systems Limited, which operates as DIY Kitchens. This deal values DIY Kitchens at an enterprise value of £390 million. The acquisition consideration includes £292.5 million in cash. Howdens plans to fund this cash component from existing resources and a new £240 million bank facility. Additionally, £97.5 million will be paid through the issuance of new shares to the seller. The acquisition targets a vertically integrated online kitchen retailer.
