Ipsen Lifts 2026 Outlook Following Strong Third Quarter Sales Performance
By EC Assets · Published
Ipsen has raised its financial guidance for full-year 2026 following a sales beat in the third quarter. The upward revision comes after third quarter revenue surpassed expectations, providing positive momentum heading into the close of the financial year. This latest forecast increase marks another upward adjustment to the company's targets during 2026, following an earlier upgrade delivered alongside its first-half financial results. In its full-year 2026 guidance, Ipsen projects a core operating margin of around 39.0% of total sales. The group also expects an adverse effect from currencies of around 0.5% on total sales. This currency headwind calculation is based on the average level of foreign exchange rates observed in October. The latest targets follow strong operating momentum recorded across the first six months of the year. Ipsen delivered results characterized as an excellent first-half performance in 2026, which originally prompted an upgrade to full-year guidance. That first-half execution demonstrated the strength of Ipsen's strategy, with all three therapeutic areas contributing to overall sales growth. Commercial performance during the first half was further supported by growth across the portfolio beyond Somatuline. The 2026 trajectory builds directly on financial results achieved during fiscal year 2025, which were driven by solid execution across all therapeutic areas. For the full year 2025, Ipsen generated sales growth of 10.9% at constant exchange rates. On a reported basis, total sales growth for 2025 reached 8.1%. These 2025 results were supported by Somatuline sales alongside broad contributions across the company's specialized divisions. Within the individual business divisions in 2025, growth was recorded across all three therapeutic segments. The Rare Disease therapeutic area led overall expansion, surging by 102.5% at constant exchange rates. Neuroscience sales rose by 9.7% at constant exchange rates during the same twelve-month period. The Oncology therapeutic area recorded sales growth of 4.1% at constant exchange rates. Commercial results across Oncology, Rare Disease, and Neuroscience highlight Ipsen's operational reliance on multiple therapeutic categories. The continued execution across all three therapeutic areas, coupled with progress across the product portfolio beyond Somatuline, underpins the company's upgraded 2026 targets. Key items to monitor for the remainder of 2026 include currency fluctuations relative to October exchange rates, which determine the expected 0.5% adverse sales effect. Delivery of the projected core operating margin of around 39.0% of total sales will also remain central to full-year performance. This article is intended for informational purposes only.
