Lanxess Stock Falls After Goldman Sachs Downgrade
Lanxess shares declined following a downgrade from Goldman Sachs. The investment bank reduced its rating on the stock from Neutral to Sell. Goldman Sachs also lowered its price target for Lanxess. Lanxess shares dropped 3%. Goldman Sachs cut the price target to €13 from €21. This downgrade followed the company's first quarter 2026 results, which were released on May 7. The downgrade was prompted by the second quarter 2026 adjusted EBITDA company guidance. This guidance fell approximately 10% below the Visible Alpha Consensus. It was also roughly 37% below Goldman Sachs' own estimates. Goldman's previous upgrade to Neutral in February had been based on different factors.
