Maersk Earnings Outlook Upgraded by DBS Amid Strong Shipping Rates

DBS has increased its target for Maersk following a period of strong container shipping rates in the second quarter. The Danish shipping group has updated its full, year earnings guidance for the second time this year. This guidance revision comes after Maersk surpassed profit forecasts. Maersk now anticipates 2025 EBITDA to range between $8 billion and $9.5 billion. This is an increase from its previous forecast of $6 billion to $9 billion. The company has also raised its global container market growth estimate to 2% to 4%. Global container demand has shown resilience. This has occurred despite previous expectations of trade fears. Strong European import growth has offset a contraction in US imports. The company is shifting import containers destined for Southern California to UP from BNSF.
