NHTSA Probes Rivian Over Suspension Defect in 115,000 Vehicles
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has initiated a federal probe into Rivian vehicles. The investigation concerns a potential suspension defect in approximately 115,000 vehicles. This probe covers both Rivian R1S SUVs and R1T pickup trucks. NHTSA stated on Thursday that it is examining a potential problem with the rear toe link of these vehicles. The probe specifically targets 114,922 Rivian R1S SUVs and R1T pickup trucks. This action by the safety regulator follows earlier news about potential issues with Rivian's vehicles. Separately, Waymo recalled 3,800 vehicles earlier this month. That recall was due to a software defect. This defect caused some robotaxis to drive into flooded areas. The luxury car market is also experiencing other developments. Online auto auctions, such as Copart and IAAI, offer luxury cars for bidding without requiring a dealer license. Tesla is currently hiring collision technicians in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, to work on its collision repair program. This article is intended for informational purposes only.
