Novo Nordisk Shares Decline After Setting 2030 Growth Targets
By EC Assets · Published
Novo Nordisk A/S shares declined by as much as 7% on Monday, following the company's announcement of its 2030 growth targets. The stock movement occurred despite the pharmaceutical firm setting a $23 billion sales target for its blockbuster obesity drugs. Novo Nordisk stock tumbled as the weight-loss drug manufacturer set out its 2030 goals. The company failed to excite investors hoping for a turnaround. Morgan Stanley downgraded Novo Nordisk A/S to Underweight on September 11, 2026. This downgrade occurred before the company's growth target announcement. Semaglutide, the underlying molecule for the drugs Wegovy and Ozempic, generates a significant portion of the company's revenue. Semaglutide accounts for roughly 75% of Novo Nordisk's 2026 revenue.
