Nvidia Partners with South Korean Giants for AI Advancement

Nvidia has secured agreements with South Korean companies, including SK Group, to bolster the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI). This development aims to further the AI boom. These deals follow discussions between SK Group Chairman Chey Taewon and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang regarding the future of AI infrastructure. SK Telecom plans to establish a gigawatt-scale AI cloud in South Korea, leveraging Nvidia technology. The initial AI data center is scheduled to commence operations in 2027. Nvidia is also expanding its AI collaborations with Hyundai, Samsung, and Naver. Nvidia announced a series of deals in South Korea with technology giants such as SK Hynix. This move seeks to secure crucial memory chips for its AI ambitions and attract new customers. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang visited Hyundai Motor's Headquarters in Seoul on June 8, 2026. Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung greeted Huang during this visit. South Korea's Naver is also set to build gigawatt-scale AI factories using Nvidia technology. Nvidia is expected to supply over 260,000 GPUs for AI growth in South Korea. Looking ahead, the implementation of these agreements and the development of the AI infrastructure in South Korea will be key areas of focus.
