Nvidia plans to invest approximately $150 billion annually in Taiwan. CEO Jensen Huang stated on Wednesday that Taiwan is the "epicentre" of the artificial intelligence revolution. The chip company is currently spending $100 billion a year in Taiwan, with plans to increase this to $150 billion. This investment is directed towards Nvidia's supply chain partners and is expected to contribute to the company's headcount in the region. Huang made these remarks at a launch celebration in Taipei. Nvidia's chief executive indicated that the annual spending in Taiwan has significantly increased from an estimated $10 billion to $15 billion a few years ago. This substantial investment positions Taiwan as a global technology manufacturing center for years to come. Taiwanese chip stocks saw gains following Nvidia's announcement of these spending plans. Strategists at Raymond James, led by Tavis McCourt, noted that the AI capital-spending boom is comparable to some of the largest such explosions over the past 150 years. This development highlights Taiwan's role in the global technology landscape, particularly in the advancement of artificial intelligence. This article is intended for informational purposes only.
