Orkla Reports 3.1% Third-Quarter Organic Sales Growth Driven by Volume Gains
By EC Assets · Published
Norwegian industrial investment company Orkla ASA delivered organic revenue growth that exceeded market estimates in the third quarter of 2026. The group posted higher earnings for the period compared to the previous year, supported by positive volume and product mix trends across its portfolio. Strong operational performance across consolidated portfolio companies helped offset a decline in total reported revenue. The consolidated portfolio companies generated organic revenue growth of 3.1% in the third quarter. Volume and mix gains accounted for 2.7 percentage points of that increase, indicating that top-line expansion was not solely driven by price increases. Management noted that the company achieved a solid quarter marked by volume expansion and broad-based progress across its asset base. Despite the positive organic momentum, overall reported operating revenue fell 2.3% to NOK 17.541 billion, down from NOK 17.946 billion in the third quarter of the previous year. Adjusted earnings per share rose to NOK 1.94, compared to NOK 1.85 in the corresponding prior-year period. Underlying earnings before interest and taxes increased 8.1%, while adjusted EBIT reached NOK 2.1 billion, reflecting a 1.9% rise. International operations also showed strong momentum during the period. Orkla India Ltd reported revenue growth of 18.4% in its second quarter of fiscal 2027, with volume growth improving to 2.9%, beating market projections and reaffirming operational targets. Within specific portfolio segments, Orkla Food Ingredients maintains a longer-term target of 5% overall revenue growth. That operational target includes organic growth of 3% to 4%, split equally between pricing and volume or mix improvements, alongside minor add-on acquisitions representing approximately 1% to 2% of revenue.
