By EC Assets · Published

Rivian Automotive Inc. reported a record high in vehicle deliveries. This increase coincides with the rollout of its R2 electric SUV gaining momentum. The company surpassed its delivery guidance for the second quarter. Rivian delivered 12,194 vehicles in the second quarter. This represented a 14% year-over-year increase. The company exceeded its guidance by over 1,000 units. Revenue also rose 27% year over year to $1.66 billion in the second quarter. Rivian released its second-quarter report on July 30. The strong performance in the R2 SUV drove an increase in full-year delivery guidance. Rivian raised its forecast to 65,000-70,000 vehicles. The R2 model is seen as a catalyst for growth. However, Rivian also issued a recall of nearly 99,000 vehicles. The recall concerned a rearview-camera software issue. This recall adds an overhang for investors. Rivian also topped third-quarter delivery expectations. The company reconfirmed its 2026 guidance. This article is intended for informational purposes only. It does not constitute investment advice.
