The acquisition aims to deepen Schneider Electric's exposure to industrial software. The deal for PTC was struck at a $22.6 billion valuation. This figure was also reported as about $20 billion in some reports. The Financial Times reported on Sunday that Schneider Electric was close to a deal to buy PTC for about $20 billion, familiar with the matter. Another report on Monday stated the deal was for $23 billion. Schneider Electric is a maker of electrical equipment. Its business has seen growth due to the build-out of artificial intelligence. The company targets deeper industrial software exposure as AI and data-center demand reshape its growth strategy. PTC is an industrial design software company. PTC stock surged over 15% overnight, report, on news of a potential buyout. European shares also rose after a selloff the previous week. French stocks, however, lagged behind other European markets.
