Temu Fined $232 Million by EU for Illegal Products

Chinese online retailer Temu has been fined €200 million by the European Union. The fine, equivalent to $232 million, was imposed on Thursday. The EU cited Temu for not doing enough to stop the sale of illegal products on its platform. European Union tech regulators stated that Temu failed to curb the sale of illegal items. Temu is a low-cost Chinese e-commerce platform. The fine comes after a European Union investigation. The €200 million fine is roughly double Temu's pre-tax profits in the EU market last year.
