U.S. stock markets are preparing for key economic data and the start of third-quarter earnings reports. Investors are awaiting the Consumer Price Index (CPI) release and the commencement of Q3 earnings season. Major indices are anticipating these events after recent market movements. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down 51 points today, reaching 51,398. The S&P 500 finished down 20 points at 7,832.75. The Nasdaq 100 declined by 169.75 points, closing at 31,232.50. Earlier in the day, the Dow Jones showed some recovery, climbing 303 points. U.S. stock futures fell on Thursday. This decline occurred as investors evaluated rising government bond yields. Concerns about Middle East energy supplies also weighed on markets. Reports of substantial borrowing plans linked to AI debt financing contributed to the futures' decrease. The Nasdaq experienced a slump on fears regarding AI revenue. Nvidia shares slid while Chevron gained. Earlier, the Dow had declined 400 points on Thursday following comments about Iran. Treasury yields and oil prices surged at that time. Goldman Sachs recently adopted a more bullish stance on stocks for the rest of the year.
