EC Assets Visits Residents and Staff at Kiltipper Woods Care Centre

Some places make you feel welcome the moment you walk in. Kiltipper Woods Care Centre is one of them.

We spent a morning this week at the Centre in Tallaght, on the southern edge of Dublin. It sits at the foot of the Dublin Mountains and has been looking after older residents, people recovering from hospital, and those living with dementia since 2004. The setting is quiet, the corridors are bright, and the welcome is unmistakably Irish.

We came with a small gesture for the residents and the staff. What we left with was much bigger. A conversation here, a smile there, a hand held a little longer than expected. People who have lived through a lot have a way of putting strangers at ease, and the residents of Kiltipper Woods did exactly that for us.

The team is the reason the place feels the way it does. They show up early, stay late, and bring the same warmth to a quiet Wednesday afternoon as they would to a Christmas morning. The patience and good humour in those corridors is something you can actually feel.

We try to do this in every city where we work. At EC Assets we think a lot about long-term thinking, the kind that compounds over years and decades. The people who care for the elderly are doing the most long-term work there is, and they do it with extraordinary grace.

Thank you to the team at Kiltipper Woods. Go raibh maith agaibh.
