By EC Assets · Published

Accenture shares rose following a new partnership with artificial intelligence developer Anthropic. The technology consulting company announced a deal focusing on AI safety. This collaboration involves Accenture serving as a third-party evaluator for Anthropic. Accenture shares climbed nearly 9% in aftermarket trading. The company's shares jumped 6% in premarket trade. The partnership was announced Friday afternoon. Anthropic selected Accenture as its first embedded evaluator to help implement Amodei's slowdown proposal. The agreement establishes a 5-year AI governance partnership. This positions Accenture as a pivotal third-party evaluator. The partnership involves establishing a team of "embedded evaluators" inside Anthropic. These evaluators will assess models, test safeguards, and conduct alignment reviews. Anthropic and Accenture will invest $1 billion each in frontier AI evaluation over five years. This totals a $2 billion deal to integrate more safety protocols in Anthropic's internal systems. This investment comes as AI executives advocate for more guardrails in the industry. Anthropic and OpenAI have faced scrutiny. Researchers have warned about AI's potential to cause catastrophic harm. The partnership with Accenture aims to address these concerns by enhancing safety protocols. This article is intended for informational purposes only. It does not constitute investment advice.
