Aethlon Medical Soars on North Immunology Merger for Atopic Dermatitis Drug

Aethlon Medical stock advanced significantly following the announcement of a merger agreement with North Immunology. The medical therapeutic company and North Immunology have entered into a definitive all-stock transaction. This deal aims to advance a novel IL-13 x IL-18 bispecific antibody intended for atopic dermatitis. Aethlon Medical, Inc. is a company focused on developing products to treat cancer and life-threatening infectious diseases. The company is also a clinical-stage medical therapeutic company. Aethlon is continuing the research and clinical development of its Hemopurifier. The Hemopurifier is a therapeutic blood filtration system. It is designed to bind and remove harmful exosomes and life-threatening substances. The company previously published preclinical data on the Hemopurifier in the Transplant Immunology Journal. This data was published in March 2025. Results from another preclinical study on the Hemopurifier were announced in August 2024. This study showed the Hemopurifier's ability to remove extracellular vesicles and microRNAs from renal perfusates. These results support future study of the Hemopurifier. This future study would assess its association with the function of retrieved kidneys as part of a machine perfusion circuit. Aethlon Medical announced financial results for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30, 2024. The company also provided a corporate update at that time.
