OpenAI Prepares Public Release of GPT-5.6 Model After Delay
By EC Assets · Published
OpenAI is set to launch its most capable model, GPT-5.6, on Thursday. The public launch follows a delay last month. The delay occurred at the request of the US government. The company describes GPT-5.6 as its strongest model yet. It reportedly has increased capabilities in cybersecurity, biology, and autonomous AI tasks. OpenAI has secured US regulatory green light for the GPT-5.6 rollout. GPT-5.6 shipped with three price tiers. Access to GPT-5.6 Sol, reportedly its most advanced AI model, is currently restricted. This access is limited to approximately 20 approved partners during a preview phase. The Statsig team within OpenAI works on systems for experimentation, feature rollout, dynamic configuration, and analytics that aid product development.
