Sutskever Unveils Nearly $7 Billion AI Firm Stake

Ilya Sutskever, a co-founder of OpenAI, has disclosed his stake in a new AI venture. The former chief scientist of OpenAI values this stake at nearly $7 billion. This development follows his departure from OpenAI. Sutskever is leading a new AI safety company called Safe Superintelligence (SSI). SSI recently announced raising $1 billion in funding. This funding comes from investors such as Nat Friedman, Daniel Gross, and Sequoia Capital. The new company is focused on creating a safe superintelligence. Its operational headquarters are in Palo Alto, California, and Tel Aviv. Sutskever leads the company alongside Daniel Gross and Daniel Levy. Meta previously made an attempt to acquire an AI startup founded by Sutskever, valued at $32 billion. That acquisition did not materialize. Meta now plans to hire the CEO of that startup.
