Ford Q3 Sales Decline Amid F-150 Production Halt
By EC Assets · Published
Ford reported a 6.6% decline in its third-quarter sales. The automaker stated that the F-150 production disruption was contained within its guidance. This issue impacted truck production after an aluminum supplier was offline last year. Ford halted production of its F-150 at two factories due to a supplier issue. The automaker stopped production at Dearborn Truck Plant, which builds the F-150, from September 24 through September 30. Ford’s Kansas City F-150 plant was also affected by the disruption. Ford CEO Jim Farley confirmed the supplier issue has been resolved. He stated that the snag impacted the company’s F-150 output in recent days. The supplier problem is expected to affect third-quarter sales and wholesale deliveries. Despite the sales decline, Ford retained its position as the No. 3 U.S. sales leader in the third quarter. The company fended off competition from Hyundai for this ranking. This article is intended for informational purposes only. It does not constitute investment advice.
