Marvell Technology Stock Rises on Google Chip Deal and Investment Option

Marvell Technology's stock surged following news of a chip deal with Google. This agreement grants Google the option to purchase Marvell stock valued at approximately $12 billion. Marvell gives Google the option to buy a $12.2 billion stake in a custom chip deal. Marvell and Broadcom both operate in the same industry. Both companies have experienced strong demand for their custom AI chips and networking components. Broadcom holds an estimated 70% market share in custom AI chips. Its AI revenue is growing at a significantly stronger pace. Broadcom dominates the custom AI market, but Marvell Technology is making solid gains. Chipmaker stocks generally fell on Thursday.
