UK tribunal gives go ahead for $4 billion lawsuit against Apple over iCloud serv

A UK tribunal has approved a $4 billion class action lawsuit against Apple concerning its iCloud service. The lawsuit alleges that Apple monopolized the cloud storage market. The claim accuses Apple of trapping users by giving iCloud preferential treatment on its devices. The class action lawsuit could entitle millions of UK consumers to a share of a £3 billion claim against Apple. UK consumer association Which? received permission to proceed with the £3 billion iCloud legal claim. The claim is for £3 billion, which is equivalent to $3.9 billion. Some reports also describe it as a $3.8 billion dollar lawsuit. The legal action stems from accusations that Apple overcharged UK iCloud users. The lawsuit claims Apple violated competition laws. Around 40 million UK iPhone and iPad iOS users could be eligible for a share of the payout if the case is won. The UK consumer rights group Which? initiated the legal claim.
