Brookfield Commits $600 Million to India's ACME Green Fuels Business

U.S. alternative asset manager Brookfield will invest up to $600 million in India’s ACME Cleantech Ventures. The investment aims to support ACME Cleantech Ventures in developing and building green ammonia and green fuels. The announcement was made on September 17, 2026. Brookfield’s investment in ACME Cleantech Ventures specifically targets the company's green fuels business. This capital infusion will assist in the expansion of green ammonia and green hydrogen production capabilities. The investment amount, up to $600 million, highlights Brookfield's commitment to India's clean energy sector. Separately, Brookfield has engaged in other activities within India. Brookfield India Real Estate Trust launched a share sale to large institutions to raise up to Rs 3,500 crore. This qualified institutional placement (QIP) has an indicative issue price and is intended to fund an Ecoworld deal and pare debt. Brookfield is also in advanced negotiations to acquire PGP Glass from Blackstone. The Economic Times reported that this acquisition could be for a sum between $1.3 billion and $1.5 billion. PGP Glass is an Indian glass-packaging company. The company is also focusing on data center infrastructure in India. Brookfield sees 6.5 GW of AI data-center capacity coming online in the country. Brookfield is making an $11 billion AI data center bet which could influence its future in India. Brookfield previously launched a new $600 million renewable platform.
